Disc golf coverage · Australia

We make disc golf
unmissable.funny.visible.exciting.disc golf.

Our purpose

Like Jomez, minus the pro.

We’ve been covering Australian disc golf since 2023, producing it the way we experience it.

From just down the road to viewers around the world, we combine professional production with occasionally loose commentary, good humour and a genuine love for the game.

The team

The people
behind PRKD.

Kyle Herbertson, PRKD MediaFull bio Kyle HerbertsonKyle took up disc golf in 2022 after years playing the version with clubs. Like most, he quickly fell in love with throwing frisbees and hasn’t looked back.Founding PRKD Media as a disc golf content channel focused on practice rounds, challenges and form tips (yes; these do exist if you scroll far enough); once the channel became established, he saw the opportunity to pivot into tournament coverage. At events, you’ll usually find Kyle operating the tee camera and following the lead card. Away from the course, he handles the graphics and production, using his software-development experience to add another level of polish to PRKD’s coverage. As a player, Kyle has several wins under his belt (it’s been a while…), including the 2022 MA4 Australian National Championship. He is not at all disappointed that the division is no longer contested at Nationals.Close

Matty Faz and Jason Weidner, PRKD MediaFull bios Matty FazMatthew Farina (better known as Matty Faz) discovered disc golf while living in Canada. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he returned home determined to help grow the sport in Australia. While stuck in hotel quarantine, Matty went slightly stir-crazy and posted a series of videos showing himself playing a makeshift disc golf course around his room. Some of those videos can still be found on Reddit, and they quickly caught the attention of the local scene.A respected Fantasy Footy writer and a schoolteacher by day, Matty brings an analytical approach to PRKD’s commentary and adding more art- and less aut- to editing coverage. His hole breakdowns are a feature of his work on the mic, wanting viewers to finish each round knowing more about disc golf and the people playing it than they did before tuning in.Matty has played longer than anyone else on the PRKD team, although a persistent back injury continues to trouble his on-course success. If he is out playing a Mako3 thrown dead straight up the fairway is not far away. Matty does not know how to throw a hyzer.Jason WeidnerJason took up disc golf in early 2022, delighted to find a sport that was easier on the body than Aussie Rules football while still allowing him to be aggressively competitive.A lifelong follower of almost every sport on the planet, Jason brings a distinctive voice to PRKD’s coverage—combining intelligent observations, offbeat commentary and left-field analogies with surprising ease. After more than 20 years running a company, Jason also contributes considerable business experience to PRKD Media’s operations. At tournaments, you’ll usually find him capturing player reactions on the tee or filling in on catch cam, depending on which assortment of the PRKD crew has made it to the event. As a player, Jason is a doubles assassin and lives for match play. While his rating continues to climb, he remains far more invested in the downward trajectory of others—and particularly enjoys filming someone lamb-shanking a disc into a tree.Close

Where else can one hear the players described as 'teething' on their drawstring or 'crowning' as they give birth to a disc? PRKD ranks #1 in commentary.

Can’t believe these guys are still “niche” in the states - best commentary and it’s not close!!!

Best commentary ever - we need this crew touring the world with special appearance commentary. Growing the sport would benefit greatly from Aussie humor. Very enjoyable indeed!

Criminal that this coverage doesn't have more views. The commentary alone is worth the watch.
